The Mexico Café
The finest home-style Mexican food in a family atmosphere founded over 69 years ago.
Have you noticed the construction of a beautiful Spanish building off Pechanga Pkwy? This will be the second location for The Mexico Café. This is a wonderful family restaurant owned by the Gaitan family serving authentic Mexican cuisine since 1951. Their original location is in San Bernardino and has been an icon and local favorite for many families.

These families have been going to The Mexico Café for generations upon generations. Reasons The Mexico Café has had many lifelong customers is due to the friendly welcome, service, exclusive recipes and uncompromised quality that have never changed since they were created by Great Grandma in 1951. Everything is made in house and the marinades and sauces give the dishes amazing flavor to delight the palate.

The Mexico Café is a beautiful and a comfortable, family-oriented restaurant as well. The Gaitan family makes every customer feel like family. Because of this experience and uncompromising quality, guests come from miles to enjoy this wonderful restaurant and excellent Mexican cuisine.
The menu features traditional Mexican cuisine as well as a few exciting twists to the traditional. There is something for everyone, even several kid’s meal selections. The portions are generous and served with delicious aromas and authentic presentation. The house specialties and entrée dishes include a choice of a small soup or house salad. Homemade chips and salsa are brought to the table right away. There is a large variety of cocktails, including exclusive recipe margaritas with house made mixes and top- shelf ingredients.
I ordered the Chile Mango Margarita which was amazing! For my entrée I chose the Sizzling Steak, Shrimp & Chicken fajitas and Albondigas soup. The fajitas were served hot and sizzling with a rich aroma. The meat was tender and juicy and filled with amazing flavor. Fajitas were served with warm tortillas and a dish of authentic refried beans covered with melted cheddar cheese, mexican rice, guacamole, and sour cream. My husband ordered the Carne Asada Ranchera with house salad. The carne asada was a tender, juicy skirt steak in a delicious marinade served with warm tortillas, mexican rice, refried beans, guacamole and sour cream. My husband claimed that this was the BEST carne asada he had ever had. The dessert was amazing as well. Lots of homemade Mexican traditional options to choose from. We shared the Buñuelos dessert and it was fantastic. A perfect combination of crispy fried tortillas, vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel and sprinkled with cinnamon. Everything was fantastic!
